Ghorm is a gigantic worm that goes around the center of the map in a circle; it won't stop to fight you until you can do enough damage to it. I recommend having Iron equipment along with a bow in order to hurt it in the small window where it passes by a part of its tunnel.

Standard type character is strongly recommended over hardcore, for all players. It is also recommended that new players start in a normal mode world. Hard mode currently doubles the health and damage of all enemies and bosses, for little to no pay-off.

You can't really make these items until you get to the mid-game, either, so take advantage of the Core's Waypoint in the early game and build your base near it!

Once you’ve crafted the cooking pot at the workbench, you can combine ingredients to make dishes that increase your speed, max health, and even make you glow while they fill your health bar back up.

My main issue with core keeper is that the progression of combat and the player character feels so incredibly shallow that I felt like I had played with the same simplistic combat since the very first minute of the game. This time I'm running because I found a carrot for the first time and I can't wait to see what new meals I can cook with it. In Core Keeper I may be trapped in the dark with unspeakable horrors, but I'm also comfortable enough to get excited about making a stew.

The survival game genre often relies on repetition to pad out game time. You find a copper pickaxe to mine iron, tin pickaxe to mine iron, iron pickaxe to mine [the next best thing] and so on. Core keeper does the same, and while I wouldn't criticize it for just doing this, it's something I have to mention given that non-e of the other progressions feel meaningful either. A large reason for why terraria works is that when you come across a chest with an item, that item will likely modify how you play the game mechanically.
